Two Carson Aquatic Club Tigershark swimmers gained worldwide recognition on Monday when FINA, the governing organization for swimming and diving, released its top-100 worldwide rankings in age group swimming.
Included on the list were:
- Mike Harrelson, 16th in the world for 18-and-under swimmers in the 200-meter individual medley (2:06.78) and 33rd in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:05.31).
- Lauren Costella, who ranked 33rd in the world in the 1,500-meter freestyle (17:24.14) for girls 16-and-under.
"I'm real excited about Lauren's ranking, because she's already faster than that time," said Tigershark coach Jack Simon.
