Alta Alpina announces spring events

Alta Alpina Cycling Club’s annual spring membership party is 6 p.m. Thursday at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, the Spring Rider Roundup features three different road rides and two mountain bike rides in Genoa. 

Weekly road races start on April 18. The biggest event of the spring is the May 18 Cyclorama and Barbeque, featuring three different road rides.

"The Alta Alpina Cycling Club is a road and mountain bike club in the Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley, Carson City, and Markleeville areas whose primary focus is to promote cycling and to create an environment in which cyclists of all ages and abilities can enjoy the sport and socialize with other riders," according to their web site.
