Genoa, Nev. — Discussion on how Gardnerville should best maintain its roads over the next 15 years goes to the Town Board 4:30 p.m. today. Chichester Estates will likely be a major topic at the meeting as the roads are more than 20 years old and have been developing cracks for years.

A related question is the paving of the Gardnerville Station parking lot, which has been waiting for the paving of Main Street through town. The actual paving of 395 is supposed to start in spring, according to the state.

School’s back in session today, so keep an eye out for students crossing streets and walking to school.

One person was taken for treatment by East Fork ambulance in what was reported to be a T-bone collision at 395 and Mica in Indian Hills around 2:30 p.m. Labor Day. A report of a sinking boat off Cave Rock around lunchtime Monday ended when the craft made it safely back to shore.

Minden got a tenth of an inch of rain over the long weekend, while Genoa saw a quarter inch. That’s pretty standard as rain totals tend to decrease as you head east across Carson Valley.

The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high temperature near 79 degrees, with the wind calm picking up out of the west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Lows will stick to the upper 40s through the rest of the week.
