Republicans host veterans

The Sierra Nevada Republican Women welcomed seven local U.S. veterans to its Nov. 8 meeting in Minden, where they were paid tribute for their service.

The veterans included 97-year-old Louis Bishopberger, guest speaker Douglas County Clerk-Treasurer Amy Burgans and other veterans from various branches of the service, Ralph Fargnoli, Bob Kornoff, Lynn Muzzy, Donna Schehl, and Carl Schnock.

Next month, the club will hold a Christmas party and the installation of 2024 Board Officers. Local Republicans and non-partisans are welcome to come and visit the meeting to see what the SNRW is about. The usual $5 entry fee will be waived for first-time guests.  

The monthly meetings are held at COD Casino’s conference room, 1593 Esmeralda Ave., in Minden, and doors open at 11:30 a.m.  Please email charmann@live.com to RSVP. In the spirit of the season, please bring a pair of new socks to donate to others less fortunate in the community.
