Tiger girls golf puts three on postseason award lists

Last week, both the Class 4A all-region and all-league teams were announced with Douglas High School girls golf putting three athletes on the award lists.

For the all-league teams, junior Giana Zinke was selected as a first team player after her performances throughout the season, including a third place finish at the regional tournament.

Junior Madison Frisby joined her teammate as a first team all-league player as well, consistently putting herself inside of the top 10 on a weekly basis.

Senior Logan Karwoski earned a second team all-league selection and was honored as an honorable mention on the all-region team.

Both Zinke and Frisby were named to the first team all-region teams as well.

Douglas head coach JD Frisby was named the Class 4A North all-league Coach of the Year.


Douglas boys soccer closes season with Senior Night

The Douglas High School boys soccer team closed out its first season back in Class 5A North with a 5-1 loss to Damonte Ranch.

The Tigers will graduate six players in the spring in captain Elliot Meza, Cesar Sanche, Sebastian Caldera, Alexander Vargas, Ivan Euceda Bernales and Luis Manuel Diaz Estrada.

Douglas ends the season with a 1-19-1 overall record and a 0-10 clip in 5A North league play.
