The Douglas High School swim and dive teams had several noteworthy finishes to the season at the weekend’s Class 5A state swim and dive meet.
Leading the way for the Tiger boys was senior Calvin Stevenson, who finished with the silver medal in the 100-yard freestyle in 47.28 seconds.
The senior also finished on the podium in the 200-yard freestyle with a third place finish in 1 minute, 42.34 seconds.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Liam Jones was sixth in 55.47, picking up three team points.
For the boys diving team, Allen Baker led the way with a second-place finish and a score of 376.70 points, finishing only behind Bishop Manogue sophomore Quinn Dyson.
Not to be outdone, Austin Pitts finished third for the Tigers with a score of 361.55.
On the girls side, Douglas 200-yard freestyle relay team was sixth, as Kiera Duffy, Gracie Goss, Sweetpea Vieira and Cammie Jahreis touched the wall in a combined 1:44.94.
In the 400-yard freestyle it was Duffy, Goss, Vieira and freshman Caitlin Taylor who completed the event in 3:50.83 for a sixth-place finish.
As individuals, Goss was seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.93) and 100-yard backstroke (1:02.19).
Jahreis took eighth place for the Tigers in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.03.
On the diving board, McKenna Chappell took bronze for Douglas with a score of 331.60.
