Genoa, Nev. — A missing 21-year-old man was reportedly found safe near Smith Ranch in the Pine Nuts, considerably further northeast from the trailhead where he was last seen. His uncle said he didn’t bring his cell phone.


The Tahoe-Douglas Zephyr Crew was pile burning off Kingsbury on Thursday and with nice weather I wager they’ll be back at it today. This is the last weekend for backyard burning, so expect to see the smoke plumes rising across the Valley.


The Friends of the Douglas County Public Library Spring Book sale member preview is 4-7 p.m. today at the CVIC Hall in Minden and will open to everyone this weekend. You can sign up with Friends at the door and have first look at the latest collection of books.


Counting the book sale there are 10 events set for this weekend in the calendar. Big Mama’s Show & Shine and the Posse’s membership drive are among just a few. If you’re looking for something do, spend the buck and check out The R-C on stands now.

The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high temperature near 76 degrees. The wind will pick up a bit this afternoon out of the north at 5-10 mph.
