There’s a fresh splash of color to catch the eye at the intersection of Tillman and Kimmerling in the Gardnerville Ranchos, and In Full Bloom owner Megan Jaramillo invites the community to stop in and smell the roses at her newly established floral business.

In Full Bloom is a full-service flower shop specializing in fresh bouquets, arrangements for wedding ceremonies and memorial services, and flowers for everyday moments and special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, proms, and graduations. They offer houseplants and succulents, different rose varieties and assorted outdoor greenery, and helium-filled balloons and balloon bouquets. Within the Gardnerville Ranchos, delivery is free.

Jaramillo brings three years of floral design experience and a lifetime of passion for plants to this new venture. Her earliest years were spent in the garden alongside her great-grandfather, playing among the foliage and learning how to cultivate the magic that spanned his property.

Recalling the breathtaking landscape he created, her eyes light up.

“…every fruit you can think of…rose bushes as big as my car,” she said.

That love of gardening was passed down to Jaramillo’s grandmother, who took care to ensure her own surroundings were rich with flowering plants and green garden spaces. Her grandmother also grows and supplies some of the rose varieties for sale in front of In Full Bloom.

After moving to Tahoe when Jaramillo was five years old, her mother carried on the family tradition by filling their home with lush houseplants and learning how to garden successfully in the challenging conditions at the lake.

“That’s where it all started,” said Jaramillo with a smile. “I’m a fourth generation green thumb.”

Jaramillo was presented with an opportunity to learn the art of floristry several years ago, and she furthered her own knowledge and education through coursework.

In March, she got her own business license. Though she originally thought she’d try working out of her home, Jaramillo felt a rush of possibility when she saw a “For Rent” sign in the window of a building that is within walking distance of where she lives.

The space needed a major remodel to accommodate the vision she held for her new business, but that didn’t stop Jaramillo from taking the leap. She and her fiancé, Ryan Wunsch, tackled the project with a goal to open before Mother’s Day, and the shop’s renovations were completed in less than 30 days.

Doors officially opened on May 1, and business is blooming. In addition to flowers and plants, the shop offers an assortment of home and gift items as well as greeting cards. Customers can opt to join In Full Bloom’s Loyalty Program, in which every dollar spent earns one point that can accrue and be redeemed for different rewards including discounts, store products, and free delivery.

Jaramillo aims to sell things that people can use, consume, and enjoy. The shop’s decor and offerings will reflect each season, and she’s looking forward to autumn and Christmas.

“It’s going to be huge in here!” she said with a laugh.
