State champion Douglas Tiger girls golf and softball squads will serve as grand marshals for the 2023 Parade of Lights, the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce said.

“We are thrilled to introduce the grand marshals for this year's Parade of Lights,” Chamber Executive Director Alicia Main said. “Our spotlight will shine on none other than the state champions from Douglas High School. In the 2022-2023 season, both the ladies' golf team and the ladies' softball team emerged victorious as state champions.”

The chamber is conducting an online survey to determine a Tiger-related theme for the Parade, which is Dec. 2.

“We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to pay tribute to and revel in the achievements of these remarkable Douglas Tigers,” Main said. “The dedication and effort put forth by these student athletes have yielded remarkable results.”

Hosted by the Chamber, the annual parade closes down Highway 395 between Gardnerville and Minden and has been part of Christmas celebrations since 1995.
