Douglas County Republican Women at a ‘We Love Life’ event at Aspen Mobile Home Park on May 21.

On May 21 Douglas County Republican Women joined Nevada Right to Life President Melissa Clement and Life Choices Director Allia Sturdevent, to give honor to their chosen theme “We Love Life.”

The event was attended by 40-50 people.  

Assemblyman Jim Wheeler, R-Gardnerville, was there in fine form, organizers said.

“He is a big supporter of our organization, and we can always count on him to support us,” according to a spokeswoman.

Light refreshments were served with the star of the table being paklava (not the Greek version baklava) was prepared by June Shafer.  

Douglas County Republican Women embrace new members and this event was well attended by many.  

Interested people may attend the club’s luncheon event 11:30 a.m. June 1 at Valley Christian Fellowship on Lucerne Street. Candidates for U.S. House of Representatives Rep. Mark Amodei and Commissioner Danny Tarkanian will be featured along with U.S. Senate candidates William Hocksteader and William. Conrad.
