Douglas Tiger basketball fans will escort the team buses to Reno on Friday in celebration of both teams reaching the state tournament.

The Tigers are scheduled to leave 4:30 p.m. Friday from Douglas High School in Minden. The teams will be escorted by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office to Lawlor Events Center in Reno.

“The team would love for you to be there to send them off at 4:30 p.m. in the school parking lot,” supporters said. “Anyone interested in following the buses to the games should plan to decorate their cars and follow the team buses to the tournament.”

Those supporters who aren’t able to go all the way to Reno are encouraged to park along Highway 395 north of Muller Lane to wish the teams luck.

The Lady Tigers basketball team will be up first as they face the Centennial Bulldogs from Southern Nevada at 7 p.m. Next, the boys will take on the Liberty Patriots from the South at 8:40 p.m.

Tickets to the game must be purchased online at https://www.niaa.com/tickets/index.
