Road clear, and power restored after collision knocks out power to thousands

Gardnerville homes and businesses were without power on Friday evening after a collision knocked a power pole into a building.
One person was transported to Carson Valley Medical Center with injuries received in the collision at Charlotte Way and Highway 395. The other motorist refused treatment, medics said.
NV Energy reported 2,189 customers were without electricity in the collision that occurred around 5:10 p.m.
The power company estimated power would be restored by 8 p.m. At 5:50 p.m., NV Energy arrived at the scene.
Highway 395 was closed due to concerns about power lines in the roadway. The highway was reopened at around 7:40 p.m. with power restored to most customers around 8 p.m.
