Authorities identify man killed in reported Topaz Ranch Estates home invasion

The man shot and killed while attempting to break into a Topaz Ranch Estates home early Tuesday was identified as David Francis.
Douglas County authorities didn't release further information about Francis on Friday.
Residents of a home on Topaz Ranch Drive said they were awakened by someone banging on their windows.
Francis allegedly came through the sliding glass door and was shot by the resident with a .45 pistol.
He retreated to his vehicle but collapsed in the driveway, where he succumbed to the gunshot wound.
Investigators are continuing to work on the case.
Meanwhile, a man who was shot after he entered a Gardnerville Ranchos home on Wednesday appeared in East Fork Justice Court on Friday.
Christian Gorham, 23, said he was hallucinating due to alcohol detoxification when he ran into the home and was shot in the shoulder.
He is facing a felony burglary charge and will return to court next week with attorney Matthew Ence.
