Carson Valley Community Theatre will present “Beautiful Noise: Music That Moves Us” this month.

“Music has often been called the universal language, but it can also be deeply personal and help us express emotions we might otherwise bury,” a spokeswoman said. “It can make us laugh or cry, tap our feet, dance, or just sing along. Music can help us express our loneliness or regret. It can speak of love and reaffirm our faith. It can evoke joy and hope. As one of our younger cast members put it, music can rock your soul.”

This show is a collection of songs that will do all of that.

Directed by Ann Delahay and co-directed by Penny Puente, the concept for this musical came about while Delahay was on a road trip, listening to some of her favorite songs. She realized that these songs all had one thing in common, they moved her. That is what she and the cast of 'Beautiful Noise: Music That Moves Us' want to share with Carson Valley.” Songs date from the 1930s to today.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. July 16, 17, 23 and 24 at and 2 p.m. July 18 and 25 at 2 p.m.
