Genoa, Nev. — A high-end Stateline condo project is looking for a $10 million reduction in the value of their property, saying they shouldn’t be taxed on the value of the building that’s yet to be built. Tahoe Beach Club’s appeal will be discussed 10 a.m. today by the Douglas County Board of Equalization. The meeting’s online, so you can watch it by going to douglascountynv.gov and click on agendas and minutes.

The driver of a white pickup in Tuesday’s morning collision told troopers he fell asleep at the wheel. The NHP spokeswoman originally said he was inattentive, which technically is also true. He pretty clearly didn’t stop before he hit the back of the plumbing truck.

Saturday’s second dose vaccination event has been moved from the Carson Valley Inn and divided into two days. Organizers are contacting those who received their first dose in January to tell them when and where they’ll get the second shot this weekend. If you got a first dose on Jan. 23, and haven’t heard yet, give it a bit.

Community testing was pretty quiet on Tuesday, and I expect will continue to be through the rest of the outbreak, unless there’s a surge. As the focus on vaccinations continues, fewer and fewer people are going to seek a test if they’re not sick.

A weak storm is still in the forecast for Friday night, but don’t expect too much from it besides some slick roads and a dusting of snow in the Valley. Today we’ll see sunny skies with a high temperature near 41 degrees. The wind will be out of the southeast at 5 mph, shifting north before lunchtime.
