Paul Alan Petteruti

June 28, 1956 – August 25, 2018

On August 25th, the angels came and lifted my sweet baby from this earth, taking him from his long battle with heart issues and cancer to a place where there is no pain.

“His energy and love will live on forever - that can never be destroyed. All of the rays of light that have ever touched his face have gathered in our eyes, and their energy will go on forever.” E & J Dunn

Some men make their mark on the world by the way they live and the difference they make in the lives they touch, and Paul exemplified this.

Paul was born to Rose and Bob Petteruti in Johnston RI, and was raised in a world of music. He was an amazing cabinetmaker, having first learned his woodworking skills at a very young age while repairing wooden instruments at his family’s music store. He also played the saxophone for many years with a number of bands in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Paul dated his wife Jo (Gelsomino) Petteruti in high school in the 1970’s. They got back together in the summer of 1986, were married in February 1987, and never spent a day apart in their 32 years together. They did everything together.

In 2007, Paul, Jo and her parents all moved to Fallon NV. Together, he and Jo took care of her parents until they both passed in 2013.

Also in 2013, Paul started building a little place for Jo, which would be called Jo’s Stillwater Tea Room, and in March of 2015, they opened the business together. Paul wanted to create a place for Jo where she and other ladies would always feel safe and comfortable sipping beverages of their choice. Paul and Jo worked together at the Tea Room until he started getting ill early in 2017.

The Tea Room will be an everlasting legacy of Paul’s, and is a showplace of all of his talents. His contributions to the community and to those he came to know and love will be treasured forever.

Besides his wife Jo, Paul leaves behind his parents Rose and Bob, his three brothers Steven, Tom and John, and his son David, most of which still reside in RI and all of which have families of their own.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at The Gardens Funeral Home and Crematory, 2949 Austin Hwy, Fallon Nevada 89406.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 PM at Jo’s Stillwater Tea Room, 85 S Maine Street, Fallon Nevada 89406.

In lieu of flowers, if you would like, please make a donation in Paul’s name to the Churchill County Library, Churchill County Museum or to your favorite organization.
