Prep roundup: Carson High girls win track meet

RENO – Bad weather forced postponement of the Carson High varsity and junior varsity softball games on Thursday.

The varsity game against Reno has been moved to Saturday at 10 a.m. at Reno, and the JV game will be at Carson at 11 a.m.

Weather permitting, Carson is hosting Galena in a doubleheader today starting at 2:30 p.m.

Carson girls win

conference meet

RENO – Carson High’s girls track team defeated Hug and Spanish Springs in a three-way meet on Tuesday at Hug.

Carson finished with 100 point, Spanish Springs 47 and Hug had 22. In the boys’ meet, Spanish Springs edged Carson, 66-63, and Hug had 57.

Anya Woodbury won the 100 in 12.8 and the triple jump at 33-10. Abigail Pradere won the 1600 (5:16.0) and the 3200 (12:19.0), while Ashley Britt won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.9 and the 300 hurdles in 50.7. Erica Basa won the long jump with a mark of 15-6, Ku’ulei Haupu won the high jump at 4-10, and Annika Wick won the 200 in 27.9.

Woodbury also took second in the 200 in 28.9 and fourth in the long jump at 14-10 1/2. Wick was second in the 400 at 64.7 and third in the 100 (13.6). Basa was second in the triple jump at 32-5 and fourth in the 100 (14.1). Britt was fourth in the 200 (29.4). Abbey Paulson was third in the long jump (15-0 1/2) and third in the triple jump (32-1). Logan Bigley was second in the 100 (13.5) and third in the 200 (29.3). Amanda Schulz was second in the discus (101-2) and fourth in the shot put (29-0). Rheanna Jackson was second in the 800 (2:31.7) and third in the 1600 (5:47.0).

On the boys side, the only wins came from Greg Wallace in the high jump (5-8), Blaise Bonomo in the shot put (43-9) and Gabe Gabica in the pole vault (PR, 11-6).

Bonomo was also fourth in the discus (116-7). Dylan Mayo was second in the long jump (20-0) and triple jump (39-10). Shane Gentry grabbed a second in the 200 (23.8), Mark Ramirez was second in the 3200 (11:17), Jared Myrehn was second in the high jump (5-8) and Jakob Carlson was second in the pole vault (9-6). Harry Meyer was second in the 110 hurdles (16.5).

Adam Maw was third in the 110 hurdles (17.0) and third in the triple jump at 39-4.

Brandon Copeland was third in the long jump at 18-5 and Cody Main was third in the 300 hurdles in 46.8 with Ben Granados placing third in the 100 (11.3) and 200 (24.0). John Dawson Breuer was third in the pole vault (8-6).


JV BASEBALL

Carson rallies for

win over Panthers

Carson High’s JV team rallied for 11 runs in the top of the seventh to knock off North Valleys, 18-14, Tuesday afternoon at Carson.

The rally wiped out a 10-7 deficit.

Tim Jones went 2-for-3 and drove in four runs and Zach Glanzmann went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Kenny Aydelott went 2-for-3 and drove in a run, and Mark Trost drove in two runs.
