Carson City School District budget hearing Wednesday, May 18

The Carson City School Board will hold its final budget hearing for Fiscal Year 2016-17 at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 18.

The meeting will take place in the board room of the Carson City School District building, 1402 W. King St.

Andrew Fueling, director of Fiscal Services for the district will take the board through the budget timeline, along with discussion and action of Capital Improvement Plan and subsequent approval of the final budget.

The district budget lists projected General Fund revenues for Fiscal 2017 of $59,353,018 but expenditures of $62,121,018. That would leave the district $2,767,997 in the red.

The difference, however, will be more than made up by the district’s projected ending fund balance of $11,264,014.

At the end of Fiscal 2017, the district projects an ending fund balance of $8,496,017.
