Carson City Toys for Tots seeking gifts for kids 10 and older

Toys for Tots is in need of toys for older children this holiday season.

While the community is very good at giving for young children, Ron Wood Family Resource Center is struggling for toys for children 10 years old and over, said Joyce Buckingham, executive director for Ron Wood.

“Everyone likes to give to children that are very young, but our older kids needs some assistance,” Buckingham said.

The center also needs sporting goods, arts and crafts items and items for pre-teens and teenagers.

Ron Wood will be taking call-ins for donations until Dec. 23 at noon.

The numbers to call are: 775-781-8838 for English and 775-781-6079 for Spanish.

Last year, Carson City Toys for Tots served nearly 3,000 local children.
