RE/MAX Realty Affiliates of Gardnerville Realtor Ginger Easley hopes to raise $2,000 for food closet

RE/MAX Realty Affiliates of Gardnerville Realtor Ginger Easley set out two weeks ago to raise $1,000 for the Carson Valley Community Food Closet. This week, she’s hoping to double that number.

“We’re really close,” Easley said. “We’ve had big donors and small donors bring us to $1,605. I’m hoping to hit $2,000 by Dec. 6.”

Monetary donations may be made at https://www.youcaring.com/carsonvalleycommunityfoodcloset-684507.

Easley said she has also held small gatherings at local restaurants to collect canned and non-perishable food items, bringing in well over 100 pounds of food, beginning with her annual client appreciation event.

“I’m really humbled by the generosity of my wonderful clients and our community,” Easley said. “Thank you to all of our donors.”

Next week’s drop off events are Wednesday, Dec. 7 from noon to 1 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Julio’s Restaurant, 1328 US Highway 395 N, Suite 303 in Gardnerville.

All donors bringing food items or donating online, will be entered into a drawing for a prime rib dinner for six from Minden Meat and Deli. The drawing will be held on Dec. 7 following the last food drop off event.
