Oregon State University recognizes local students

Area students were included on the Oregon State University winter term Scholastic Honor Roll.

Abigail Chitwood, a senior chemistry major from Minden, and Darby L. Reeder, a senior agricultural business management major from Zephyr Cove, were both recognized for having attained a B-plus — 3.5 grade point average or better — during the term.

Carson City’s Dionysius W. Copoulos (senior, chemistry), Fallon’s Debra S. Beyer (freshman, pre-mechanical engineering) and Fernley’s Michael A. Kendricks (senior, manufacturing engineering) also made the listing.

To qualify for the Honor Roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.

Carson High grad makes Dean’s List

Morgan Barton, a graduate of Carson High School, was named to the winter 2016 Dean’s List at Seattle University.

To make the list, students must earn a 3.5 or better grade-point average with at least 12 credits. Barton is the daughter of Joan Goddard of Carson City.

Carson woman on Dean’s List at Johns Hopkins

Lauryn Bailey of Carson City was named to the Dean’s List for fall 2015 semester at Johns Hopkins University. To be selected for this honor, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in a program of at least 14 credits with at least 12 graded credits.

Bailey is the daughter of Chuck and Jennifer Bailey and attended Dayton High School.

Bailey, who’s majoring in an arts and has a sciences pre-major, graduates in May 2019.
