Laura Jean Denham

July 13, 1924 - July 9, 2015

Laura passed away at Carson Tahoe Regional Hospital on July 9, 2015. She was just a few days shy of her 91st birthday. She was born July 13, 1924 in Waco, Texas, the daughter of W.D. (Bill) Pearson and Laura J. Ocker. She was the

youngest of five surviving children and had four older brothers who adored her. In 1943, she met and married a handsome airman by the name of Gerald W. Denham and they had three daughters. Laura was our strength and the glue that held our family together. By her words and by example, she gave her daughters the strength and the will to do or be anything they wanted to be. Thank you, Mom. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Gerald, her mother and father and all her brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jerry Clements (whose husband, Michael F. Clements, passed away Aug. 29, 2015), Barbara Shabell and Brian Baldwin, Janice Lilley; three grandchildren; Michael W. Clements, William R. Clements, and Katherine L. Shabell; three great grandchildren; Lenor, Morgan, and Aiden and one great-grandchild; Autumn Jade. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the paramedics of Lyon County, the staff of the ER and ICU units at Carson Tahoe Regional Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Chapman who helped us let our mother go, and Dr. Tann for his kind actions and words after she passed. Mom, we are lost without you and will sorely miss you.
