MINDEN — The Douglas Tigers used a balanced attack to sweep past Fallon 3-0 in a non-conference match on Tuesday night.

Douglas (5-3) won by 25-11, 25-17, 25-21. The Tigers rallied back to win the final game after trailing by scores of 18-13 and 20-15.

Talyn Jackson contributed 20 assists, eight kills and two aces for the Tigers. Taryn Allmett finished with nine kills and Isabelle Peterson eight and Aubrey Caires five. Freshman Maddi Rozier handed out 15 assists to go with nine digs, while Johnnie Saletti added six digs.

Douglas plays at home again tonight at 6:15 p.m. against two-time defending Division III state champion Yerington.


Sierra Lutheran rolls in 3

Sierra Lutheran served for 26 aces on its way to a three-game sweep of Sage Ridge as the Falcons rolled to a 25-16, 25-6, 25-18 win.

Brynna Hansen served for 10 aces and Macey Creek added seven aces for Sierra Lutheran.


Virginia City edges Sparks

VIRGINIA CITY — Kilsi Sequeira had nine kills and 15 assists to lead the Muckers to a 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 26-24 and 15-9 win over Sparks in a nonleague match.

Kaitlin Hames added 10 digs, five kills and three aces, and Rachel Renaud had seven kills and three aces. Chelsea Nevin finished with 14 assists, three digs, four kills and three aces.


TENNIS

Carson teams dropped by Damonte

The Carson boys and girls teams both lost to Damonte Ranch on Tuesday.

Playing at home, the boys lost 13-5.

Nico Salm and Danny Dudley were the bright spots, going 3-0 in No. 2 doubles. The duo won 18 of 25 games. Zach Simms and Jayson Artz went 1-2 as did Alek Henricksen and Stu McElhaney. Carson went 0-9 in singles.

The boys visit Douglas Thursday.

• The girls dropped an 11-7 decision in Reno. No other information was available.

The Senator boys open the regular season by hosting Reno tonight at 7. The JV squads get action started at 5 p.m.
