Ann F. Moxley

Ann F. Moxley, 90, of Gardnerville, NV passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Emeritus Senior Living. She was forever devoted to her family and friends. Born to Charles and Mary Suomi in Maple, WI. Ann grew up in Maple and had attended the Maple Corner School. As a teenage she worked in Maple Co-Op. At 18 Ann moved to Long Beach, CA. then moved to Seattle, WA to work for Boeing Aircraft as a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII. Right after the war she moved back to Long Beach, CA and roomed with her sister Elma. Modeling was her first job in California. Soon she met Clarence on a boat to Catalina; they were married on November 23, 1947. Clarence worked as an Union Iron Worker taking Ann to Anchorage, Alaska, Hesperia & Lompoc, California, Phoenix, Arizona and then back to Long Beach. After waitressing for half her work life she became a Real Estate Agent and Broker, selling for Rex L. Hodges in Long Beach. Later she sold investment property at the Tahoe Keys, Shelter Cove and Pinion Pines outside of Palmdale, California. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 48 years, Clarence (Blackie) Moxley; her sisters, Elma Donovan and Stella Meyers, and brother Roy Suomi. She is survived by her sons Chic Moxley (Sue), Tom Moxley (Donna) of Gardnerville, NV, Wally Moxley (Kris) of Pleasanton, CA, and her daughter Vonda (Moxley) Davis (Mike) of Liberty Hill, TX; grandchildren Chad Moxley, Tommy Moxley, Janet Price (Moxley), Miranda Mascari (Moxley), Cody Moxley, Tyler Moxley, Paige Busse (Moxley), Jessica Long (Davis), Brady Davis and Austin Davis; plus 16 adorable great grandchildren. The family wants to express our deepest gratitude to the Emeritus’ extraordinary caregivers: Katie, Jessica, Linda, Lisa, Crystal, Quintella, Carol, Rebecca, Yessica, Cindy, Tammy, Shea, KJ, Ruth, Cera, Rozalin, Lillian, Lynn and Zayla whose love and care provided much comfort to Ann and her family. We would like to also express our thanks to the staff for all their love and support during her eight plus years of residency at Emeritus (Merrill Gardens). Finally the family wants to express our thanks and gratitude to the Gentiva Hospice Team. Burial and a celebration of her life will be held on December 29, 2014 at 2:15 pm at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
