One hears of some fresh demonstrations of the secret forces of nature — any man who seriously denies that such a force exists and calls it a hallucination labors under a deeper hallucination than any body. Astonishing things happen daily in mesmerism and clairvoyance, and if people would spend a little time in honest inquiry, something more might be learned.

The Rainbow Girls enjoyed a picnic at Zephyr Cove, Lake Tahoe with swimming and boating. Later a picnic lunch was planned. Mrs. Grace Sweetland, Mrs. McQuigan and Mrs. Mighels accompanied the girls.

A 10-month-old monkey named Dexter got out of his cage, danced about the shop, gobbled pet tranquilizers, threw pet food on the floor, opened a bird cage, broke a few bottles of vitamins and shampoo and had a few more tranquilizers. He went fishing in a guppy bowl, dialed random numbers on the phone, threw bottles, and ate more tranquilizers. By the time the Riverside owner arrived, Dexter was tuckered out and ready for bed ...
