Elizabeth “Bette” Jergesen Paul

On December 5, 2014, Elizabeth Jergesen Paul of Carson City, Nevada, went to be with her family in heaven. Elizabeth “Bette” Paul was born on the family farm near Chinook, Montana on August 24, 1925, to Chris and Mary Jergesen. She lived on the family’s farm with her five siblings (John, Robert, Pete, Helen & Lucy) until after high school when she moved into the town of Chinook to work. She then met L. William Paul who was an attorney from Havre, Montana, whom she married in 1951. They were blessed with three children; Deborah, Larry, and Douglas. Then the family moved to Nevada where they were blessed with Steven and Theresa. After raising her children, Bette went to work at Carson Tahoe Hospital and later became the first state Ombudsman. She is preceded in death by her husband L. William Paul, sons Larry W. Paul, Steven G. Paul, Douglas R. Paul, and daughter Teresa Paul Dees. She is survived by one sister, Lucile Rosene, of Santa Cruz, California; one daughter, Deborah Privett, of American Falls, Idaho; daughter-in-law Clare Paul of Chino Valley, Arizona; grandchildren Phillip (Jessica), Emory, Kirsten, Marie, and Ian Paul, Barbara Jean (Jackie Lee) Morris, David Rodney (Carol) Privett, Deborah Lynn Pruett, April Dawn (David) Preston, 15 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 11:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30am, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will be in Lone Mountain Cemetery.
