Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Dec. 2. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Bella Cakes, 2811 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Capital Eats, 110 W. Telegraph St., points.

Carson Nugget, snack bar, 507 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Carson Nugget, Steak House, 507 N. Carson St., 100 points.

El Pollo Loco, 1923 E. Highway 50, 100 points.

Hickory Farms, 1443 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Mallard’s at Empire Ranch Golf Course, bar and lounge, 1875 Fairway Drive, 100 points.

National’s Cafe, 1701 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Westside Pour House, restaurant, 110 W. Telegraph St., 100 points.

The Basil, 311 N. Carson St., 99 points. Foods were found without labels and dates.

Carson Nugget, banquet kitchen, 507 N. Carson St., 98 points. The ice machine had biofilm buildup.

Carson Nugget, Garden Cafe, 507 N. Carson St., 98 points. There was a buildup of biofilm in the ice machine. Cutting boards on the line were in disrepair with deep gashes.

Mallard’s at Empire Ranch Golf Course, main kitchen, 1875 Fairway Drive, 97 points. There was no certified food handler on duty.

Save Mart Supermarkets, meat department, 3325 E. Highway 50, 97 points. There was no certified food handler on site.

Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St., 96 points. A bag of flour was stored on the floor in the back food preparation area. Biofilm buildup was found on the ice machine in the back of the house. Cutting boards were found with deep gashes and in disrepair.

Save Mart Supermarkets, deli department, 3325 E. Highway 50, 96 points. There was no sanitizer cloth storage bucket or spray bottle set up at the front service counter or in the preparation kitchen. There was no certified food handler on site.

Carson Nugget, High Sierra Loft, 507 N. Carson St., 95 points. The dish washing unit did not have a detectable sanitizer level, and a sanitizer test kit was not provided for the dishwasher.

Carson Nugget, main kitchen, 507 N. Carson St., 95 points. Dishwashers throughout the main kitchen were found without chlorine residual, corrected on site. A sanitizer test kit was not provided anywhere near the dish washing units.

Garibaldi’s, 307 N. Carson St., 95 points. There was an unwrapped steak filet stored directly on the grill work inside the reach-in, corrected on site. There was not certified food handler on duty.

Grandma Hattie’s, 2811 S. Carson St., 94 points. The dishwasher did not have sanitizer residual. Potentially hazardous food had internal temperatures between 42 and 46 degrees on tables across from the cook line.

Jacksons, 1615 E. Fifth St., 100 points.

Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar, 301 N. Carson St., 94 points. There was no sanitizer issuing during the final rinse cycle of the dishwasher. The interior of the ice machine was dirty with biofilm buildup. The interior of the dishwasher had black buildup in the corner and on the dish racks. There was thick buildup in the front of the machine.

Westside Pour House, bar and lounge, 110 W. Telegraph St., 94 points. Water was pooling at the bottom of the three-door drop-in cooler near the ice machine, and its metal interior was rusty. The hose draining the speed gun was blocked. The dishwasher was not draining properly after the wash and rinse cycles. The upper half of the ice machine wad dirty with biofilm. The manufactured ice was floating in water at the bottom half of the ice machine. Floors needed cleaning, and the floor inside the walk-in had a large hole in the metal surface and was not cleanable.

Round Table Pizza, 3325 Retail Drive, 93 points. A trash can was blocking the hand sink in the dish washing room, and there was a container in the sink basin. Water was pooling at the bottom of the glass reach-in at the front service counter. Dish racks were stored on the floor in the dish washing room, where there was dust accumulating on the light shields. There was food debris on the walk-in door, on the walls surrounding the preparation sink and on the floor mixer.
