Obituary: Aglaee Del Carlo

1939 - 2013

Aglaee Del Carlo, 74, passed away on Monday,

September 9, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Ohio. She was born in 1939 in Sacramento, California to parents, John and Josephine DuFresne.

Aglaee was proud of Virginia City and her community. She loved the people and the culture and worked to make it thrive. After retiring from the post office, she worked at the RV park and Fourth Ward School. She volunteered with Virginia City Motorcycle Marathon, Nevada All-State Trail Riders endurance rides, and the senior center.

She was pragmatic in all she did, often meeting the small needs of others. Though always believing in God, she was not a church goer yet accepted Christ and His forgiveness during her illness. There is a peace and comfort amidst the pain of disease. Her sense of humor, kindness and consideration for others, and love of her family never failed. She will be honored and missed.

Algaee is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, William A. Del Carlo of Salt Lake City, UT; daughter, Dr. Dana Current and husband, Dr. Chad Current of Rosewood, OH; brother, Bob DuFresne of Virginia City, NV; sisters, Clair Obester of Carson City, NV, Nancy DuFresne of Carson City, NV and Lynette Lockard of Salinas, CA.

A celebration of Aglaee’s life and pot-luck will be held Sunday, Sep. 22nd at 1 p.m. at Virginia City Ice House.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Virginia City Motorcycle Marathon a. k. a. Bikes for Benefit, a non profit 501 (c)3, at P. O. box 714, Virginia City, NV 89440. Or contact Sarah Jensen (775) 847-0399 or Larry Prater (775) 847-0465.
