Carnival starts Thursday

Family Night kicks off RSVP’s four-day Nevada Day Carnival at Mills Park on Thursday.

During the event, set for 5-9 p.m., the admission to all rides is $1.

The carnival opens at noon Friday through Sunday and includes carnival rides, live music, food booths and opportunities for holiday shopping. All-day ride wristbands cost $25; for a $5-off coupon, go to www.nevadaruralrsvp.org.

A battle of the bands event is Saturday; the deadline for musical entries is Monday. A prize will be awarded to the winning act.
