Manogue spikes Carson in 3 games

RENO — Sierra League leader Bishop Manogue pounded Carson in straight sets Thursday — 25-10, 25-11 and 25-20.

Carson dropped to 5-7 in league play. Carson returns to action Tuesday night at Spanish Springs.

“Our serve receive killed us,” coach Robert Maw said. “Manogue served awesome, and we didn’t adjust.”

Carson never got its offense going, registering just 16 kills in three matches. Gaby Palazzolo and Juliana Anderson led the way with six kills apiece. Danielle Good and Gina Peacock each had 1.5 blocks, while Good also added 10 assists and four digs. Jayce Roberts had 14 digs and three aces. Sarah Christl finished with five assists.

Dayton blanked by Truckee

The Wolverines rolled to a 10-0 win over the Dust Devils in a Division 1A game Thursday afternoon.

Soccer Saturday at CHS

Carson will host Damonte Ranch in boys and girls soccer on Saturday.

The varsity girls play at 9 a.m. followed bythe varsity boys and JV boys.

Winter sports sign-ups

Sign-ups for winter sports at Carson High will be held Oct. 28 from 5:320 to 6:30 p.m. in the north foyer.

Athletes need to bring their completed forms, including clearance from the library and finance office to the sign-up session. All returning athletes will complete a form which includes updaed information with a parent signature. New athletes must complete an athletic packet including clearance from the library and finance office. The forms are available in the athletic office or at www.carsonhigh.com.

All completed forms must be received by Nov. 8. Tryouts for winter sports will begin Nov. 16, Call 283-1900 for more information.
