Health inspections for Nov. 7

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Nov. 7. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Adele’s, bar and lounge, 1112 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Centro Market, produce department, 2794 E. Highway 50, 100 points.

El Pollo Loco, 1923 E. Highway 50, 100 points.

Raley’s, bakery, 3701 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Schat’s Bakery, Cake Shop, 1212 S. Stewart St., 100 points.

Schat’s Bakery, 1212 S. Stewart St., 99 points. Ingredients were not posted for the in-house-made packaged baked goods.

Adele’s, restaurant, 1112 N. Carson St., 98 points. The waste cooking oil barrel was not closed. The waste storage concrete pad was dirty with used cooking oil.

Mallards Restaurant at Empire Ranch Golf, main kitchen, 1875 Fairway Drive, 97 points. A freezer was operating at 19 degrees. Some overhead lighting in the kitchen did not have protective covers.

Heidi’s Family Restaurant, 1020 N. Carson St., 97 points. Pancake batter, eggs, and whipped butter were found with internal temperatures between 41 and 45 degrees. Non-food contact surfaces, such as refrigerator handles and shelves, were dirty.

Round Table Pizza, 3325 Retail Drive, Suite 110-115, 97 points. The knife rack was not clean, and one knife was not clean. Some utensil bins located opposite the dishwasher were not clean inside. The light shields above the dishwasher were dirty with dust accumulation. The walls in the dish washing room above and below the drain board were not clean. There was sticky buildup behind the nozzles on the customer soda dispenser.

Sonic, 1856 E. College Parkway, 96 points. The reach-in holding lettuce, grated cheese, and dairy was holding at 46 degrees and above. A baffle in the grease hood over the grill was missing. Locker areas or clothing hooks were not provided for staff clothing.

Schat’s Bakery, restaurant, 1212 S. Stewart St., 95 points. Food stored in the walk-in refrigerator was not properly dated and labeled. Meats were being temporarily stored outside the walk-in cooler. Garbage storage container lids were open. The waste grease barrel was dirty with food debris and grease.

The Basil, 311 N. Carson St., 94 points. Chlorine residual was not found in the dishwasher. Potentially hazardous foods (including cut vegetables and sauces) were in the make-up table and reach-in refrigeration unit across from the woks with internal temperatures between 41 and 45 degrees. The Basil scored 100 points on a follow-up inspection.

Centro Market, grocery, 2794 E. Highway 50, 93 points. All baked goods and frozen desserts were not properly labeled. Milk was in the refrigerator with an expired “use by” date. Packaged ice for sale did not have labeling indicating the point of origin. The waste grease barrel was on gravel near the waste storage area.

Centro Market, deli department, 2794 E. Highway 50, 92 points. Pinto beans were in the steam table at 120 degrees, and a certified food handler was not on duty.
