Obituary: Betty Trigueiro

October 17, 1921 - July 2, 2013

Betty Trigueiro, age 91, passed away on July 2, 2013. Betty was born in Reno, NV to Lee and Gertrude Johnson on October 17, 1921, and moved to Fallon as a small child. She went to school in Fallon, graduated from Churchill County High School and in 1940 married Stillwater resident Louie Trigueiro. With the exception of several years in San Francisco during the 1940s Betty and Louie made their home in Fallon. After Louie’s death in 1979 Betty continued to live in Fallon, until a recent move to Chico, California to be near her Granddaughter. Betty worked for the Churchill County School District for many years until her retirement as manager of the school lunch program.

Betty loved family and friends and loved living in Fallon. In retirement she enjoyed vegetable and rose gardening and taking care of her acre; including mowing and irrigating well into her 80s. She liked everything having to do with the state of Nevada and enjoyed following University of Nevada sports.

She is survived by her son, Gary Trigueiro, of Eugene, OR and his wife, Cathie; her daughter-in-law, Donna Trigueiro, of Boise, ID; her former daughter-in-law, Kathryn Wright of Chico, CA; her brother, Bill Johnson, of Whittier, CA; her sister, Barbara Thatcher of Washougal, WA; her granddaughter, Shelly Thompson, husband Brett, and her three great grandsons, Scott Thompson, Chase Thompson, and Ty Thompson all of Chico, CA. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Trigueiro; her son, Norman Trigueiro; her grandson, Tony Trigueiro, and her brother, Arthur Johnson.

She will be missed tremendously and forever we will cherish the great memories of her wonderful cooking, many trips to Disneyland and the love she had for taking care of her family. A gathering in her memory will be held in Fallon later this summer.
