Obituary: Lance Hepworth

Lance Hepworth, 45, died August 1, 2013, in his home in Fallon, Nevada.

A service was held on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at the Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Fallon.

Mr. Hepworth was born in February, 1968, in Long Beach, California, to Vivian and Robert Hepworth. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1986. He married Holly Arnold in April, 1990, in Lemoore, California, where Lance was stationed while serving six years with the United States Navy. Mr. Hepworth was a combat veteran of the Persian Gulf War.

After leaving the Navy in 1992, Lance went to work for McDonald-Douglas in 1994, and later with Boeing. Lance and Holly moved to Fallon, Nevada, 19 years ago. He transferred from NAS Lemoore with the Navy Top Gun school to NAS Fallon. Prior to his death, Mr. Hepworth worked as an Aviation Technician for L-3 Communication. Lance’s specialty was working on F/A-18 Hornets.

Lance and Holly have two children, Nicholas, born in 1992 and Muriel, born in 1999. Mr. Hepworth was a wonderful father and loved spending time with his family. Lance’s passion was outdoor activities. He taught his children to fish, camp, play baseball and softball, and delighted in coaching several of their sports teams.

Mr. Hepworth is survived by his wife of 23 years, Holly Hepworth; his son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Dina Hepworth of Fallon; his daughter, Muriel Hepworth; and mother and stepfather, Vivian and Larry Miles of Prescott, Arizona. Nicholas is currently serving in the United States Army, stationed in Missouri.

Mr. Hepworth was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hepworth and grandfather, Tom Sugden.
