9,500 voters register in April

The Secretary of State's office says 9,500 voters registered in Nevada during April.

As the month ended, Republicans added 2,277 for a total of 392,050 active Republican voters in the state. Democrats added 3,915 for a total of 428,774. Non-partisan voters also increased by 2,485 for a statewide total of 168,225.

That brings the statewide total number of active Nevada voters to 1,049,004 - 9,464 more than there were in March.

In Carson City, 89 voters were added to the rolls for a total of 22,419 and Douglas County added 88 new voters. Lyon County gained 90 voters, finishing the month at 26,740 and Churchill 54 voters for a total of 10,706.
