Everest leads Tigersharks

Eli Everest, swimming in the 15 and up age group, took a second and third for one of the Carson Tigersharks best performances at the Reno Summer Splash over the weekend.

Everest swam a 5:01 in the 400 free, finishing second and dropping four seconds off her previous best. She swam a 10:26.41 en route to a third place in the 800 free. She dropped her time by one second in that event. In the 200 free (2:22.84) she dropped two seconds.

Corrinne Defilippi, swimming in the 15 and up group, dropped two seconds in the 50 free (35.4), dropped two seconds in the 400 free, dropped two seconds in the 100 free (1:20.50), dropped four seconds in the 100 breast (1:50.91) and dropped two seconds in the 200 free (2:47.94).

In the 13-14 division, Blanca Sosa and Tallon Rauch dropped time in several events but didn't place.

Sosa dropped 10 seconds in the 100 free (1:12.89), dropped 19 seconds in the 200 back (2:59.24), dropped 10 seconds in the 100 breast (1:44.74), dropped 16 seconds in the 200 free (2:47.86) and dropped eight seconds in the 100 back (1:33.94).

Rauch dropped six seconds in the 200 IM (2:49), dropped one second in the 50 free (30.1), dropped 31 seconds in the 400 free (5:06), dropped eight seconds in the 200 back (3:08.48), dropped six seconds in the 200 free (2:24.85) and dropped six seconds in the 100 back (1:15.91).

Stella Carroll, also in the 13-14 division, dropped time in five events. She dropped six seconds in the 200 IM (3:07), dropped 22 seconds in the 400 free (5:31), dropped four seconds in the 100 fly (1:29), dropped five seconds in the 100 free (1:14.48) and dropped five seconds in the 100 breast.

In the 11-12 group, Brett Kolb dropped time in six events. He dropped 23 seconds in the 200 IM, dropped 13 seconds in the 400 free (5:49), dropped one second in the 50 free (33.0), dropped one second in the 50 back, one second in the 50 free and dropped in the 50 breast.

Reece Canfield, also in the 11-12 group, dropped 39 seconds in the 400 free (6:11), dropped four seconds in the 100 back, two seconds in the 200 free, one second in the 50 fly, one second in the 100 breast and one second in the 100 free.

Victoria Defilippi, 11-12, dropped 22 seconds in the 50 free, 21 seconds in the 100 back and 12 seconds in the 100 breast. She also dropped four seconds in the 50 breast.

Lewis wins flight

at Carson Valley

Dayle Lewis shot a net 70 to win Flight A of the stroke play tournament at Carson Valley Golf Club on June 17.

Glen Watson was second with a 73.

Augie Martinez won Flight B with a 72, while Bill Fraser, Bruce Sanford and Tom Brooks tied for second with 75s. John Carey won Flight C with a 67.

Carrion wins President's

Cup at Silver Oak

Paul Carrion finished with a 59 to win the Sunday men's President's Cup that concluded June 10.

Andy Bohm and John Owens tied for second with 60s, while Larry Wood was fourth with a 61. William Kapczynski and Rich Torok tied for fifth with 62s.

Scott, Masiello tie

for top Empire flight

Joe Scott and John Masiello shot 66s in Flight A to tie for first place in the Empire Ranch Senior Men's stroke play tournament June 13.

Ken Cuneo won Flight B with a 63, while Henry Ortiz was second with a 64. Walt Blizzard won C flight with a 65, while Ray Plimpton, Don Becker, Marshall McCurdy and Chuck Bell tied for second with 66s. Jim Watt won D flight with a 66.

Sear, Goodnight win

at Thunder Canyon

Steve Sear shot 65 to win the Men's Day tournament at Thunder Canyon, and Claudia Goodnight won the women's play with a 70 on June 15.

Mike Judge was second with a 68,.

Jeanne Brennan was second in the women's tourney with a 72, while Elaine Easterling finished with a 78.

Carson City BMX

hosting Olympic Day

Carson City BMX, in conjunction with other BMX tracks, are holding an Olympic Day on June 24 at the Edmonds Sports Complex.

Sign-ups are from 9 to 10 a.m., and you don't need to be a member to participate in this special event. Participants mist provide their own bike (no kickstand or chain guard), long sleeve shirt, long pants, enclosed shoes and a helmet. Gloves are recommended. Riders under 18 need a signature from one of their parents,

Johnson records ace

at Silver Oak

Freeman Johnson recorded a hole-in-one on the 125-yard par-3 second hole . Johnson used an 8-iron on the 125-yard hole. The shot was witnessed by Frank Maricich, Kevin Johnson and Larry Johnson.

CCLL sets fall

ball sign-ups

Between June 27 and July 11, Carson City Little League will be taking sign-ups for its fall program.

The program is open to players between 5 and 18. The league also will be taking equipment donations.
