Mike Rebiejo

A graveside service is 2 p.m. Monday at Eastside Memorial Park for Topaz Ranch Estates resident Mike Rebiejo, 88, who died Oct. 21, 2010.

Born Sept. 6, 1922, in San Leandro, Calif., he volunteered for the Army and served with an Air Force base unit in Greenland during World War II.

After being honorably discharged in 1945, he went to work for Caterpillar as a machinist. He retired from Caterpillar and moved to Topaz Ranch Estates in 1978.

He married Beatrice E. Blamey, who died on Nov. 15, 1981. He then met and married Betty Hinton on Nov. 20, 1988.

He was an avid 49er and baseball fan. He played baseball for the Caterpillar team.

He loved to work with his hands and made many beautiful items of furniture. He could fix just about anything.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fortudso and Vincenta Rebiejo; brother Antonio Rebiejo and sister Josie Rebiejo.

He is survived by wife Betty; sons Robert and Rick; daughters Carol Johnson and Cristie DeLima; brother John; sisters Lucy Tipton, Mary Parker and Christina Munoz; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
