2 Gardnerville men accused of selling marijuana

Two 19-year-old men were arrested Wednesday following a month-long investigation of marijuana sales at their Chichester Estates home.

Parker Evans Dallas and Clayton Degracia each were charged with sales of a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.

A third 19-year-old, Jacob Lee Lopes, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The three appeared Thursday in East Fork Justice Court.

Douglas County Sheriff's Street Enforcement Team investigators arrested Degracia and Dallas after a month-long investigation.

Investigators made three separate controlled purchases of marijuana from the subjects, according to reports.

During service of the arrest and search warrants at Degracia and Dallas' residence in Gardnerville, marijuana and paraphernalia associated with drug sales reportedly was discovered.

Investigators said Lopes, who was present at the residence during service of the warrants, was found in possession of marijuana and prescription medication (Percocet) without a prescription. He was jailed on two charges of possession of a controlled substance.

Justice Pro Tem Paul Gilbert refused to release the three on their own recognizance.

Bail is $10,000 cash for Degracia and Dallas; Lopes' bail is $500.

Degracia told Gilbert he recently underwent back surgery.

"I have a lot of medical issues with my back," he said. "I have blood clots in both legs and need blood work every four days."

Gilbert appointed Derrick Lopez to represent Degracia who said he was unemployed and had been a fulltime student.

In arguing against release on their own recognizance, pxxrosecutor Laurie Trotter said Degracia and Dallas faced serious felonies with "prison a very likely sentence" if they are convicted.

The three are to return to court on Nov. 3.
