The R-C Morning Report

A 21-year-old Dresslerville man faces up to 10 years in Nevada State Prison at his sentencing this morning in Douglas County District Court. Brandon Brown admitted he stabbed a man during an altercation in Lampe Park last spring. He pleaded guilty one count of attempted battery with a deadly weapon at his arraignment on Oct. 19. Brown is eligible for a suspended sentence.

Members of the Douglas County Parks and Recreation Commission are scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. to check if a site near the Topaz Lake Campground will be suitable for a permanent motocross track. The board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. at the Topaz Lodge and could decide to give the track its recommendation.

It's going to warm up a little today, but temperatures will continue to be chilly, with the high hitting 41 degrees. Expect mostly cloudy skies and a light wind of about 5 mph. It's 18 degrees out in Genoa this morning, 19 degrees in Minden and 22 degrees in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
