Bootiful turnout for haunted weekend

EDITOR:

Douglas County Historical Society's, Haunted Weekend was a success thanks to all of you that attended; we appreciate your support for this fun historical event. Haunted Weekend is a weekend filled with fun historic and haunted events that take place each year in October. It is not only a fund-raiser for the historical society but has become a tourism venue that brings out of area visitors to Carson Valley.

We especially want to thank all the great ghosts of Minden; they did a terrific job of recreating Minden of the past. We also want to thank the Mottsville Cemetery Association, Towns of Minden and Gardnerville for their support and help. Most important, Haunted Weekend would not be possible without all the wonderful volunteers and family members that portray a variety of historical ghosts from our past and the volunteer guides that take you back in time. The media coverage locally and out of the area was terrific and all the businesses that put up posters and rack cards to promote the event. We truly cannot thank you enough for you support.

We are anticipating a bigger and better Haunted Weekend next year with three new fun events.
