Staff Reports

The Harvest Yoga Party to benefit the Kids' Backpack Buddies Consortium is 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. Saturday at 02 Yoga & Wellness, 1557 Zerolene Place, Minden.

The all-day workshop with instructors Leslie Flynn, Jennie Pitts, Keri Sheerin and Anne Wiles is presented in a morning session at 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and an afternoon session from 2-4:30 p.m.

The cost is $30 per session or $50 for both sessions.

A vegetarian lunch prepared by Anne Wiles, sous chef at La Ferme, is available for purchase.

According to event organizer Leslie Flynn, money collected from the workshops will be donated to the Backpack Buddies Consortium, which helps feed children in need in Douglas County.

"The purpose of this workshop is to celebrate and cultivate gratitude for this beautiful place in which we live and to give back to our local families," said Flynn.

"The community of yoga students that we have is exceptional. They are kind, giving, men and women from all walks of life that come together to practice and learn about yoga," she said.

"Our hopes are that people new to yoga and our studio, along with our good friends will join together to support this event."

Register for Saturday's yoga party with 02 Yoga studio owner Keri Sheerin at 782-6345, or Leslie Flynn at (775) 292-0438. Information, www.yo2ga.com
