Halloween was a big hit around Carson Valley, with an estimated record number of little goblins hitting Trick or Treat Safety Street and a score of pizzas devoured for Genoa's annual Halloween celebration.
One of the last loose ends in the case of the Gardnerville extortion crew may be wrapped up with the sentencing of a woman who allegedly tried to intimidate a witness. Carson City resident Melissa Suzanne Goetz, 19, is accused of acting on behalf of Robert Pierce, 32, who pleaded guilty two weeks ago.
November will open up with a week of warm sunny weather with the high today expected to hit 70 degrees and no moisture in sight. Expect more of the same during the week.
