The Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley has started its Christmas shopping. The club collects used bicycles and tricycles and transports them to China Spring Youth Camp where the kids there refurbish them.
In December the bikes are donated to Project Santa Claus for disbursement to needy families in Douglas County.
Last year Project Santa Claus had a request for 270 bikes but the Kiwanis were only able to supply 166 bikes and 80 new helmets.
They are seeking help to meet their goal this year of supplying a bike and a new helmet for every needy child.
Used bikes in need of a little TLC or minor repair can be dropped off at the following locations.
