John David Nigra

A memorial date will be announced for long-time Douglas County resident John David Nigra, 65, who died May 14, 2010, in Carson City after a brief battle with cancer.

Born Jan. 17, 1945, in San Francisco to Lucio and Eda Nigra, he was raised in Amador County, where his family owned Buscaglias Restaurant in Jackson, Calif.

Mr. Nigra was a 30-year resident of the county, who owned J&J Cabinets and J.N. Construction.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald Nigra.

He is survived by his son, John Vincent (Nicole) Nigra of Los Molinos; brother Joseph (Loretta) Nigra of Pine Grove; grandchildren Ronnie Nigra, 24, Sampson Nigra, 10, and Giana Nigra, 8, of Los Molinos; niece Sheri (Steve) Defazio; great-nephews Alex and Jake Defazio and great-niece Missy Defazio of Placerville, Calif.
