More than a quarter of the largest graduating class in Western Nevada College history lives in Douglas, Lyon and Alpine counties.
The class of 2010 is 451 students strong and includes students from age 16 to 85. Commencement is 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William St.
Students chose two WNC faculty members to offer their commencement addresses: Professor of College Success Susan Priest and Library Support Specialist Ron Belbin.
This year, Western will welcome its second class of graduates - six students - who have earned a bachelor of technology degree in construction management. Nevada State College will also present bachelor's degrees to 14 students who completed a partnership program that allows them to start their teacher education degree at WNC and finish it through NSC without leaving the area.
