Teens charged in jewelry burglary

Two Gardnerville Ranchos teenagers were charged with burglary after a family member reported that jewelry was missing from her home.

Benjamin Allen Cecchettini, 19, was charged with burglary and held on $80,500 bail. Deputies also reportedly found hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia at the time of his arrest May 19.

Jessica Lynn Amerson, 19, also was charged with burglary. East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl continued Amerson's arraignment to June 28 and released her on her own recognizance with an ankle monitor.

He appointed Derrick Lopez to represent Cecchettini and set his next court appearance for May 26.

The victim told deputies the jewelry, while not expensive, had belonged to her grandmother and had sentimental value.

When he was arrested, Cecchettini told officers he was an intravenous drug user and had two broken needles stuck in his arm.

Cecchettini was taken to Carson Valley Medical Center for treatment before he was transported to the jail.
