Scouts travel to California for 100th anniversary

We have an incredible group of Boy Scouts in Troop 411 here in Gardnerville.

In addition to continuously supporting the community by participating in numerous service projects, our Scouts attend merit badge colleges (most recently April 24 at Bishop Manogue High School) on the weekends to study new topics, raise funds by selling popcorn so they can attend camp each summer, and support other service groups with their own projects,

Many of the Scouts in our troop participate in the yearly Scouting for Food drive to replenish our local food pantry, help with numerous holiday events and organize various events to help our community such as a recycling day coming up in May.

Our troop has had the honor of seeing many Scouts earn the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, with many more Scouts in our Troop on their way to reach this accomplishment.

On April 17-18 members of our troop traveled to Pleasanton, Calif., for the 100th Anniversary of Scouting Jamboree, where more than 20,000 Scouts and their families celebrated scouting.
