The R-C Morning Report

While I'm sure some folks will be at boiling temperature over water consolidation, the return of an agenda item dealing with Senate Bill 278, which would allow counties to band together to form a rural health district may have Stuart Posselt's teapot whistling. The Legislature is asking the county a series of questions about the district, which includes how it should be run and supported. Right now the state provides services such as restaurant inspections to rural counties outside of Carson City. Commissioners meet at 1 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. in the Douglas County Administrative Building.

Also on the agenda before county commissioners today is a request by the Community Development Department that Douglas County accept Centennial Drive and Snowshoe Lane for maintenance some 46 years after they were offered for dedication. Both roads above Genoa are listed in the county trails plan as access to Forest Service lands west of town. Should commissioners vote to accept the road, they will become public right of way, something they are apparently not now.

Today should be sunny and clear with a high temperature of 59 degrees and a low in the high 20s. It will continue to warm up through Saturday and then showers start showing up on Sunday and lasting until the middle of next week.
