The Law Enforcement Memorial Run is coming through town today around noon. Nevada peace officers left Las Vegas last week. The memorial will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the memorial in Carson City.

Minden Town Board members are discussing awarding a $1.12 million contract to build the East Buckeye and East Valley Water Line Project that will be part of the infrastructure Minden needs to serve other portions of the Valley. Town board meets at 6 p.m. in the CVIC Hall. They're also discussing an easement for a water booster pump on the far northeast edge of Winhaven.

A DUI hearing for former County Commissioner Steve Weissinger has been delayed until June 16. Weissinger was arrested Feb. 1 by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper who said he was speeding as he headed north on Highway 395 and changed lanes, cutting off another motorist.

It's supposed to be a windy Wednesday today with breezes out of the west at 15-25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. The high won't be quite as warm as Tuesday, reaching 63 degrees. The wind is supposed to keep blowing through the night calming by Thursday morning.
