Stephensons celebrate 50th anniversary

Jeff and Nancy Stephenson of Minden celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 7, 2010. The couple met at Reno High School. They eloped to Minden on March 7, 1960, where they were married by Justice of the Peace Fisher. They renewed their vows three months later at First United Methodist Church in Reno.

Jeff graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a degree in industrial management/accounting and worked as a corporate accountant for three Fortune 500 companies for 25 years, before starting his own company as a general contractor specializing in water damage restoration.

Nancy graduated from the University of Redlands with a degree in business administration and worked in accounting for the Mission Viejo Co. and with Shea Homes.

The Stephensons retired in 2003. They have three children, Ken, Todd and Brad Stephenson, and two granddaughters, Cortney and Krista Stephenson, all of Aliso Viejo, Calif.

The Stephensons celebrated their anniversary with 15 relatives and friends by attending Sunday services at Methodist Church in Reno, followed by brunch at the Peppermill.
