Carnival at Stateline through Sunday

The Horizon Casino Resort hosts a carnival in their back lot at Stateline, 3-10 p.m. Thursday, noon to midnight Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs. Carnival information, 790-1544.


Movie in the park tonight

The fifth season of Gardnerville's free movies in the park begins at dusk tonight with "Zathura A Space Adventure" in Heritage Park, one block off Highway 395 on Gilman Avenue. Bring a picnic or enjoy food available for sale by vendors. "Zathura," with a PG rating, was directed by Jon Favreau, and stars Dax Shepard and Kristen Stewart.

Sponsors are Blockbuster, BodyWise Physical Therapy, Burger King, Carson Valley Medical Center Senior Care, Carson Valley Medical Center Complete Care, D'Ascoli Orthodontics, Killer Salsa, Re/Max Realty and Sharkey's.

One and only flea market Saturday

The Douglas County Historical Society Flea Market is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville. Space fee is $10. Information, historicnevada.org or 782-2555.


Free concert in Genoa Park Sunday

The Town of Genoa Recreation and Events Committee's free summer concert series begins with the Billy Slais Jazz Ensemble, 5 p.m. Sunday, in Genoa Community Park. Bring friends, family and picnics. Shop for fresh produce from Nevada and California farms at two weekly community farmers markets in Carson Valley.
